A moment in this room
The radiators tick as they warm. There is a stack of cream paper with our crest on the desk, and a good pen beside it. Across the way the Opéra is dark tonight, which is when the city sounds best.
Named for Sebastian Král
Composer, winter 1926.
In the winter of 1926 the composer Sebastian Král checked in for a week and stayed until spring, writing a waltz on our letterhead because he had run out of manuscript paper. The first page hangs above the desk. He settled his bill, eventually, with two tickets to the premiere.
